Satellite channels based on SCPC technology arrange communication between offices and facilities of a company, passing traffic in real-time and ensuring work of applications that are critical to data transmission delays in places with weak or completely absent ground infrastructure.
SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) technology assumes the use of a digital satellite channel to construct a corporate network, in which remote objects are connected to each other or to the central office using a “point-to-point” topology. The service is provided by a satellite earth station (SES) equipment which should be installed directly in offices and at facilities of a company.
The connection is being implemented with provision of a dedicated satellite-based resource, assigned to the SES. Thus, the bandwidth is always guaranteed.
ASTEL may provide an individual SES equipment set to each client, depending on its goals. The standard SES equipment set usually includes:
- satellite antenna with a diameter of 1.8 m, 2.4 m or 3.7 m
- support for mounting the antenna (on the building or ground)
- radio frequency (RF) receiving and transmitting equipment
- satellite router (modem)
- additional necessary network and switching equipment
